A comprehensive examination session seeks to uncover the underlying imbalances in the body or mind. It's part inspection, part discussion: the better the information, the better diagnosis.

YOUR CONSULTATION: What to expect

A consultation consists of darsana, sparsana and prasna.

No need to be concerned, these sanskrit words merely translate to inspection, touch and questioning. These are the pillars of an Ayurvedic consultation and in sanskrit are known as "Trividha Pariksa", the threefold method of clinical examination.

In practice, this means we will spend time discussing your medical history, any ailments which may be affecting you, your diet and lifestyle; I will check your tongue, hands, nails, pulse and other tissues for vitality; and lastly, I may ask you questions about your body functions to gain a better understanding of doshic function.

Once I have a good understanding of how your body is functioning we arrive at the final part of the consultation - the diagnosis and treatment. The conclusions I present may provide clarity in the understanding you may already have gained on your own and with that, we can begin to discuss any changes that you may wish to make in order to restore balance.

There is nothing in particular that needs to be done before you arrive for your consultation. It is better if you have not thought too much on the various questions I may ask as it is better for the responses to be spontaneous and from memory (intellect can sometimes get in the way).

After each consultation, where appropriate, I will email you a summary of my notes. It is important that you understand how your body is functioning and what you can do to correct any imbalances which may be present. Remember, you will have to undertake the work involved in restoring the balance but I am here for support and guidance when you need it.

It is my purpose to provide you with the knowledge of Ayurveda so that you may better understand the subtle attributes and movements working through your body and mind as you go about your day. With each ongoing consultation you will gain mastery and understanding over your mind, body, and ultimately your doshas.

As you better appreciate the activities that draw you towards health, you will be better equipped to make decisions for yourself.

INITIAL CONSULTATION: $ 100

The initial consultation will be approximately 120 mins.

During this consultation a detailed medical history will be taken and we will discuss any ailments you may be experiencing. This is also the occassion for you to better understand both Ayurveda and me. We may be working together for quite some time so it is important to feel comfortable.

FOLLOW-UP CONSULTATION: $ 50

Follow-up consultations last approximately 60 mins.

These consultations are extremely important as they ensure that any prescribed treatments are having the desired effect. Doshic imbalance can be troublesome and it is important for us to have this time to discuss any changes that may be taking place and how your body is responding to those changes. As with any treatment, it will need to be adapted as your doshas begin to find their balance and move more into a state of maintaining health and vitality.

During these sessions I may prescribe herbs or oils. These specialist herbs or oils are an additional cost, however, there is no pressure to purchase these products from me. I will supply you with necessary details if you are interested in purchasing these yourself.
